PCT day 38 - mile 789 to mile 803 (Glens Pass)

Skin is peeling off my arms from sunburn I didn't have a shave in a month, last time I had a bath was in a snow water but at least I have a nail clipper and half a toothbrush to keep myself civilized.

Only a short day today, but it doesn't mean that it was easy. The last two days were really hard with all the night hiking, elevation gain, going off trail to resupply and challenging passes it looks like my body demands some respite as I was nearly falling asleep while hiking today.

I decided to finish walking and set camp at 3pm. With only few miles to Pinchot Pass I can start walking earlier tomorrow and be there in time to go through it. Glens Pass was a bit more demanding and steep than Forester Pass, I had to wear the micro spikes on one occasion on a particularly steep section, but it got easier from there.

This section of the trail is covered with lakes and streams, there's a lot of stream crossings and it's impossible to get through it without soaking your feet. I tried to dry my socks at midday but it got wet shortly after I started walking again. There was a cool suspension bridge right at the mile 800 of the trail over a particularly big and dynamic stream, it was surprising to see human technology after miles of wilderness.

Overall a good day with fabulous views. It's 5pm now, time to go to bed (if I had one, but sleeping pad and sleeping bag will do just fine). It's a lovely campsite in the pine forrest, shaded by the trees and I can hear one of the streams roaring in the distance which creates a perfect white noise to zzz..
