PCT day 90 - mile 2023 to mile 2055
What I've expected to be a nerve wrecking experience turned out to be quite average and forgettabl but that's alright. I'm talking about hiking through the Lionshead fire trail closure today. I started hiking an hour earlier than usual to bypass a potential ranger at the border of the closure and as expected nothing was awaiting me there but two notes stating that this part of the trail is closed because of the fire damage. I also had to hop over a string on which one of the notes was hanging to officially 'break the law'. Burn area itself wasn't any worse than many other fire zones we crossed so far on the PCT, in many ways it was actually better, with less fallen trees and well defined path, snow wasn't too much of a problem as well and it only lasted few miles. Right in the middle of the closure in the Jefferson Park area most of the trees were not affected by the fire and the whole section looked great. Around 3pm myself and three other PCT hikers reach...
