Legs and Borders

Good progress today, trail has been fairly cruisy although still covered in snow and very wet but overall it feels like the hardships of hiking in the high mountains are coming to an end. Bear thank God did not make an appearance at night and my food was still hanging safely on a tree in the morning. I've seen a couple of bear turds on the path today though so there's definitely few of them in the area, the food bag goes back up hanging tonight as well. I'm camping alongside Mama Troll and Lazarus I've met in Kennedy Meadows North, they are going to town tomorrow for a forced day off, the post office will be closed and they have stuff to pick up from there. I'm also pondering a shorter day as it's meant to be raining. We are staying above the remnants of a 1960s ...

"At mile 1115 before 10pm a bear cut my bag after I tangled the cord up in branches. I'd read they knew how to find the cords and cut them down. I found the above comment today as I was checking available campsites for tonight, it has been posted.. yesterday. I just resupplied and I got a lot of good food in my bag and I would hate to lose it, since I'm camping 2 miles away from the incident, I took couple of precautions to minimize the risk. First of all I'm not staying in any official campsite but in a random spot I found in-between them. I ate and separated the wrappings of my opened/most scented food including Polish Kiełbasa, I also ate a huge dinner tonight (pictures and recipe to follow) just in case the worst happens. Good news is there's at least two hikers camping ahead of me closer to the area where the bear was last active, they don't have bear canist...
