PCT day 69 - mile 1464 to mile 1495
"Follow an ancient Lemurian highway and save few miles of breathing in smoke. Under the diurnal psychoactive compound regimen detailed in Yogi's Guidebook, you may still see phantom teams of waggish bloompas pulling Lemurian caravans fraught with finely wrought instruments of subtle, mysterious design. On still nights Bababooian chants can be heard echoing from Telos, home of the Lemurians, beneath mount Shasta" Ribbitman.
Today on one hand was very similar to yesterday on the other it felt so much better, perhaps because I didn't feel like I was pushing myself too hard and the trail was shaded and we'll graded throughout the day.
Everyone shoot out early from the campsite and it worked out exactly the same as previous day's, I was ahead for the first ten miles only because I woke up and started walking half an hour early, but by 9am everyone has overtaken me and I was the last person in the group.
We kept the good pace and by 2pm we stopped at the last water until the Interstate 5 tomorrow. The point was a river with some good swimming holes too, we took half an hour break to have a dip in the river, it was absolutely amazing!
Only Fomo managed to pull off 35 miles today and got himself into town, the rest of us ended up camping few miles away from the road, on the infamous trail shortcut (cutting it by about 2 miles but adding amazing views and camp spots). We didn't join Tank Top's birthday celebrations after all, but we gave it our best shot.
Tomorrow is a resupply, town food day - I don't plan to stay there long and get back on trail as soon as I'm finished with it. Perhaps getting new shoes would be a good idea as the ones I'm wearing now are way past their 500 miles limit, I'll have a look.
