PCT day 59 - mile 1205 to mile 1232

"Life was easier until my dreams got old." Wojciech Kuczok

Very straightforward day, typical, maybe a bit boring but I definitely grew to like them.

Early start followed by a surprisingly steep climb and then a rollercoaster of ups and downs for the rest of the day. Even though high mountains have finished it doesn't mean that it became automatically flat, there was a 4.5k feet of ascents today and it looks like this trend will continue.

I've finished listening to "Gnój" by Wojciech Kuczok today, it was a story about a family home in Silesia, Poland across three generations of its inhabitants, the book set rather sarcastic and critical tone for a society after the Second World War, interesting perspective but it was tough to listen to sometimes as it had a pretty grim undertone.

Tank Top texted me in the morning and since I happened to have signal I got his message straight away. He picked up the tempo and was in Sierra City this morning, only 15 miles from where I was at that time, so it looks like he will finally catch up with me! Which I'm looking forward to as hiking alone all the time can be a bit dull.

I set up the camp pretty high up in the forrest, it would be perfect if not the wind and tiny fly's trying to suck your soul away. My food bag is hanging from a tree once again and it will continue to do so until people in the comment section of my Guthook GPS app will stop reporting bear sightings. Either way it was a good day all around.
