Legs and Borders

Three days spent under Paris with some excellent company. Big thanks to Jobs for organizing, Maniac for driving and to everyone in the group for making it an awesome trip. Bombay mix of characters and temperaments worked out well. Treat this report as a general overview and my personal highlight of the Catacombs, place is huge it would take another ten visits to properly document it. This are few snaps i managed to take with my compact camera (dropped the idea of taking DSLR down there). History:  Catacombs of Paris are built within a forty meter layer of Lutécien limestone, it built up over millions of years and was originally covered by ocean. Niektórzy kolekcjonują motyle, inni zdzierają gardło na meczach piłkarskich lub pod ambasadami. My fotografujemy opuszczone budynki. Eksploracja miejska to spolszczona nazwa angielskiego terminu „urban exploration”. Większość zainteresowanych nazywa tę dziedzinę po prostu urbeksem. Zjawisko to obrosło przez ostatnie lata wieloma bardziej lub mniej uzasadnionymi kontrowersjami, tworzonymi głównie przez samych eksploratorów. Koniec końców urbeks to najczęściej zwiedzanie opuszczonych budynków – jest to kontynuacja i rozwinięcie dziecięcych eskapad. Eksploracja miejska dotyka całej tkanki miasta. Niekórzy popychają granice tej dziedziny w zaskakujące rejony, infiltrując np. metro warszawskie, wwiercając się do komend dowodzenia z czasów drugiej wojny światowej w katakumbach pod Paryżem czy wspinając na szczyt niewybudowanego jeszcze londyńskiego wieżowca Shard . Right next to Auschwitz and Pripyat ; if it only was easier approachable; it should be a must go destination for anyone. This place bares an unbelievable historic value, luckily it is being preserved with great care. Museum in Hiroshima goes into a lot of detail about the history and circumstances of the explosion, you can spend hours walking around and reading materials about it, there are many items salvaged from the site like actual human remnants, personal items, bricks, tiles, melted glass jars - all bearing effects of the disaster, some of them you can touch and inspect yourself. There are also survivors, now volunteering at the museum answering the important questions. It's all very well organized and you can walk away with a lot of information's of what actually happened here. Thousands of people visit the museum daily which is quite comforting, as the knowledge is passed on to the young, few of which fell into tears right in front of my eyes. A watch belon...

Decaying plot of land in Grodzisk Mazowiecki in nearby Warsaw. It's one of the biggest old vehicle graveyards in Europe, currently after an Idiot Box  feature very run down and vandalized. visited with: Adm Kuz and Ł. Hachuła History : Cars belonged to Tadeusz Tabencki who was a high rank Ministry of Transport official and an officer of Ministry of National Security , during Polish PRL times. Tadeusz acquired most of his toys in not particularly legal way, he was basically using his position to appropriate the vehicles after the car registration law changes. In it's heyday his collection consisted of about 300 cars and 200 motorcycles. Polish collector until today surrounded by many rumors died (quite ironically) in 1989, after death his family completely abandoned the vehicles and left it to rot as they were, unsecured, most of them standing outside on bare ground behind a basic fence.
