Te Araroa (day 39) - Big Bay to Davies Bay Campsite [QCT] / mile 1107

Second day on Queen Charlotte Track winding its way around a plethora of bays, heading towards Havelock.

Weather was perfect, trail well maintained and quite busy. Many section hikers were using their Christmas break to hike this 80 kilometre scenic path.
There's not much to be said about today which is a good thing. When I woke up the shag sleeping in a branch above the tent was still there, cleaning it's feathers. Trail didn't have any difficult sections so I managed to cover a long distance. The goofy birds I encountered yesterday were still present and tried to steal various things from me. I know now that they are called wekas, here's a short info about them:
I ended the day on a pretty campsite at Davies Bay which allowed hikers to camp by the beach. Tomorrow will be the resupply day at Havelock, the trail is heading towards Richmond Ranges next. Weather looks like a mixed bag but it will hopefully get better in couple of days.
